William C. Ackermann Scholarship Program - 2001 Recipient

	Derek Winstanley Rachel A. Brennan is the 2001 recipient of the $1,000 W. C. Ackermann scholarship. Rachel is a PhD candidate in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She received her MS degree from the University of Illinois in 1999. 	Derek Winstanleyher PhD degree, Rachel plans to work in the consulting engineering field and ultimately become a professor of environmental engineering. She was presented the scholarship at a ceremony held at the Illinois State Water Survey on March 1, 2001 in junction with the staff service awards. Water Survey Chief Derek Winstanley and Nicholas Schneider, Executive Director of the Nature of Illinois Foundation, made the presentation. Also in attendance was Mrs. Margaret Ackermann, wife of former Water Survey Chief William C. Ackermann.
